Planning your wishes
Many people want to plan their own funeral in advance, saving their loved-ones from having to make difficult decisions at a time of great distress.
Planning your wishes
Very generally, there are two main aspects to any kind of funeral or memorial service. The first concerns the practical arrangements of where and when the service is to take place, flowers, donations etc, and the second aspect is the format and content of the service itself. Increasingly people are making the arrangements for their own funerals themselves.
This may be because there are particular things they would definitely like, such as where the ceremony is to be held or perhaps particular readings or music they would like included. A great many also want to save their family and friends the anguish and difficulty of making these decisions at a time when they will be suffering the initial stages of loss and grief.
Cate and Sarah can help you to create a service that fits in with your wishes, including all the arrangements that you would like, such as music choices, readings and tributes. You can also indicate who you would like to conduct the ceremony when the time comes, whether that be Sarah or Cate, or another individual you would like. The final ceremony can then be lodged with your will at your solicitors, with your executors if you so wish, and if you already have a funeral director in mind, with them as well, as you choose.
Of course, we all hope that after making your arrangements, you will have many more happy years to enjoy with your families and friends, and if you want to make changes to your arrangements in that time, we will be happy to accommodate them. You can relax though, safe in the knowledge that when the day does finally come, the final arrangements for your funeral service are already in place and as you would want them to be, and your relatives will not need to make difficult decisions on your behalf in the immediate days after losing you.
If you would like to discuss this further with Sarah or Cate, then do please get in touch with us as we would be delighted to help.
